Save it as DOCX first. This tool accepts .docx files.
Not always. Complex layouts are simplified and page breaks can change.
The converter extracts document content and lays it out for PDF pages. It does not use Microsoft Word’s layout engine. Columns, text boxes and complex positioning can be simplified, and pagination may differ from the source. For a document where exact appearance matters, compare the result carefully or export directly from the authoring application.
Older .doc files must first be saved as .docx. Review wide tables and large images before conversion because they can affect page breaks. The generated PDF uses rendered page images, so it should not be treated as an accessible or fully selectable replacement for the source document. Keep the DOCX for future edits.
Word content is rendered through a restricted HTML conversion step. Embedded raster images can be included, while remote images are replaced with alt-text placeholders. Active links are stripped. Check the output against the DOCX, especially when it relies on linked images, elaborate styling or floating elements.
Complex columns, floating objects and original Word pagination are simplified; output is rendered page imagery.
The DOCX conversion passes through the same restricted HTML renderer. Basic headings, lists, tables, text alignment and embedded raster images are retained where supported. Arbitrary CSS is ignored, external images become alt-text placeholders and active links are stripped.
DOCX becomes simplified HTML before rendering. Use Word’s own PDF export when exact layout fidelity is required.
