Turn plain text, notes or code into a PDF

Log excerpt

A plain-text diagnostic log needs a readable attachment. Use Mono and inspect long lines after wrapping.

✓ Compare key timestamps, symbols and indentation with the source.

Options after selecting a file

Text source

Pasted text is used only when no text files are selected. Files are decoded as UTF-8.

Selecting a file means edits in the pasted field will not affect its PDF.

Font

Sans uses Helvetica, Serif uses Times and Mono uses Courier.

Mono helps retain code alignment but fits fewer characters across a line.

Size (pt)

Sets the text size from 6 to 36 points; the default is 11.

Increasing size increases wrapped lines and page count.

Frequently asked questions

The details, when you need them.

Does it render Markdown formatting?

No. Markdown syntax remains plain text in the PDF.

Can I use it for code?

Yes. Choose Mono and a size that keeps long lines readable.

A straightforward document for sharing

Long lines wrap to fit the page, and the converter adds pages as needed. A monospaced font is helpful for code or aligned text, while a serif or sans serif font suits notes and prose. Tabs are converted to spaces. The tool uses a plain layout rather than interpreting document formatting.

Check characters and formatting

Markdown, CSV and JSON files are treated as plain text. Markdown headings are not styled and CSV data is not converted into a table. The built-in fonts have limited character coverage, so check non-Latin scripts and symbols carefully. For a complex document, use an authoring application with appropriate fonts and export from there.

Encoding and font coverage

Built-in PDF fonts do not guarantee every script or symbol; Markdown is plain text rather than rendered formatting.

Characters appear incorrectly

UTF-8 decoding or built-in font coverage may not match the source. Save the text as UTF-8; use another export path for unsupported scripts.
