Why is my WebP larger than the original JPG?
Changing formats does not guarantee a smaller file. The result depends on the image, its existing compression and the selected quality. Compare both sizes in the result. Try Smaller (60%) or reduce the dimensions with Resize images if file size matters.
What happens to transparency?
PNG and WebP preserve transparent areas. JPG does not support transparency, so those areas become white.
Do my files leave my device?
Files are processed inside this browser. The site downloads its processing software, but your selected files are not sent to a conversion server.
