Frequently asked questions
The details, when you need them.
Which compression level should I choose?
Start with Light to keep the original text and graphics. If the file is still too large, try Recommended. Strong reduces image quality further, so small print may look softer. Compare the result with your original before sharing.
Can I make my PDF fit a specific upload limit?
There is no exact target-size setting, so a result such as 100 KB or 1 MB is not guaranteed. Start with Light, check the new file size, then try a stronger level if needed. Scans and text documents compress differently. If the file is still too large, split it into smaller documents where the upload form allows this.
Will I still be able to copy text and use links or forms?
Light preserves existing text, graphics, and page structure. Recommended and Strong replace pages with images when this produces a smaller file. You can read the result, but text selection, clickable links, and interactive forms are lost. Keep your original if you need these features.
Why did my PDF stay the same size?
Some PDFs are already well optimized. If compression would produce a larger file, the tool returns your original instead. You can try a stronger level if softer images and non-selectable text are acceptable.
What should I check before sharing the result?
Check that the new file meets your upload limit, then open it and zoom in on small text, stamps, signatures, and diagrams. Make sure everything you need is readable and keep a copy of the original.
