Doom Converter

Draft policy, not approved for publication

Privacy policy

Your documents and your visit to this website are handled differently. This notice explains that distinction.

Who this notice covers

This notice covers the Doom Converter website and its browser tools. It does not cover the browser, operating system or external websites you choose to use. Operator and contact details are being finalized for launch.

Files you choose

The tools are designed to process files in your browser. The current application has no document-upload endpoint or account-based file storage. Selecting a file gives the page access to that file so it can read, preview and transform it.

Files, entered text, options and generated results can remain in browser memory while you work. Download the result before leaving the page. Retain your original document until you have checked the result.

Closing or reloading the page ends the working session, but this is not a promise of secure erasure from your device. Downloads, browser caches, backups, extensions and operating-system storage are controlled outside this website.

Website requests and downloaded components

Your browser makes network requests to load the website and some processing components. These requests can disclose an IP address, browser information, the requested resource and other ordinary request details to the provider receiving them.

The review build serves pinned PDF and conversion scripts, fonts, OCR workers and OCR engines from its own static host. All twelve supported OCR language models are served from the same static host. These software requests are separate from document bytes. Hosting request logs and browser language-model caches still require the disclosures described here.

HTML and Word conversion use a restricted isolated renderer. Scripts, arbitrary CSS, active navigation and remote resource references from imported HTML are removed. This supports basic document formatting rather than faithful rendering of an interactive website. Security tests cover synthetic inputs; final browser and deployment checks remain part of release review.

Storage on your device

The first-party application does not intentionally save your selected documents to cookies, localStorage or IndexedDB. The browser may cache downloaded website assets. The OCR library can cache language data in IndexedDB; that language data is separate from your documents.

Your downloaded results remain where your browser saves them. Use your browser settings to clear site data, and manage downloaded files separately.

Hosting and connection data

Production hosting is planned on Cloudflare. Hosting and security providers can process request and traffic data to deliver and protect the website. Processing a PDF locally does not prevent that ordinary website traffic.

The final notice will identify the configured hosting services, retention settings and any applicable international-transfer safeguards. No fixed log-retention period is claimed in this draft.

Advertising and measurement

The current preview contains reserved advertising spaces. No live advertising or analytics integration has been enabled in the application.

Before advertising is enabled, this notice will name the selected providers and explain their data use, storage and privacy choices. Any consent controls required by the final configuration must work before the corresponding ad technology runs. Document contents must not be supplied for advertising or analytics.

Information you send to support

A public contact channel is not configured in this preview. When one is introduced, sending a message may provide your contact details and the information you include to the operator and its communications provider.

Do not send passwords or confidential PDFs to report a problem. Describe the tool, your browser and the issue, and use a sample with private information removed where possible. Support retention and provider details will be included before that channel launches.

Your privacy choices

Depending on your location and the processing involved, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive personal information, object to processing or withdraw consent. Applicable exceptions and identity checks may apply.

The operator will provide a working contact route before launch. Requests concerning information held by the operator are separate from files kept only on your device. Manage local downloads and site data through your device and browser.

Where applicable, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Advertising consent and opt-out controls will be described here if advertising is enabled.

Changes to this notice

The notice should be updated when providers, processing features or privacy controls change. The published version will carry its effective date so you can see which version applies.
